Situated deep in the heart of Dorset, Okeford Hill Bike Park is a mountain bikers dream, with over 400 feet of alpine style downhill trails there is ample challenge to be had. The site is aimed at intermediate to experienced off-road enthusiasts and serviced with an efficient uplift provided by open top Land Rovers towing bicycle trailers that allows for approximately 20 runs a day. Okeford Hill is run and maintained by an enthusiastic group of riders making it an informal and relaxed venue with a good variety of challenging downhill mtb trails.

There are extensive mixed woodlands on the estate which can be accessed via Alfreds Tower. Other woods nearby. Privately owned Wood. Stourhead Estate. A pass is needed to ride here at £10 per person per year.

Haldon Forest Park’s cycle trails are open all year round and there’s nothing more refreshing than a bike ride through the frosty forest. Whether you’re just learning, or you’re happiest when shredding through rock gardens, Haldon Forest Park offers off-road cycling and progression for every rider. Amazing views are guaranteed from our position high on the Haldon Ridge outside Exeter. Helmets must always be worn while riding. Read more about how we grade cycle trails. Accessible cycling Our cycle partner, Forest Cycle Hire, offers a range of adaptive cycles including electrically assisted bikes. All cycle hire is heavily discounted for over 55s.

The North Dorset Trailway now extends approximately 14 miles from Sturminster Newton to Spetisbury, with a section in Stalbridge we aim to link with, providing a safe route for walkers, runners, cyclists, equestrians and people with mobility scooters. The Trailway is largely made up of sections of the old Somerset and Dorset Railway which linked Bristol and Bournemouth until the 1960s.
